On March 17, 2025, a joint expert team from the Typhoon and Marine Meteorological Forecast Center of the National Meteorological Center and the China Classification Society visited Ninecosmos for a special investigation on the Assessment System for Weather Routing Services for Ocean-going Vessels and the Concept of Constructing Intelligent Systems.
Dr. Zhou Zheng, CEO of Ninecosmos, along with Chief Engineer Dr. Wang Mingqing, President of the Shipping Division Li Sheng, and Vice President Xu Xiao received the guests throughout the visit. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions focusing on weather routing technology innovation, service evaluation guidelines formulation, and future collaboration opportunities.
During the meeting, the three parties conducted a detailed discussion on the draft of the Guidelines for Assessment of Weather Routing Services for Ocean-going Vessels, organized and compiled by the China Classification Society. The guidelines aim to establish industry service standards and promote high-quality development. Ninecosmos contributed constructive suggestions based on our expertise and practical experience.
All parties unanimously agreed that weather routing services for ocean-going vessels are critical for ensuring navigation safety, improving operational efficiency, and reducing carbon emissions. This investigation deepened the cooperation among the three parties and laid a solid foundation for the improvement and implementation of the guidelines.
